CZECH PRESIDENT: UKRAINE’S MILITARY ADVANTAGE IN DOUBT, TIME FAVORS RUSSIA

The current front-line situation does not suggest that Ukraine can achieve a military advantage, stated Czech President Petr Pavel at the Diplomacy and Security conference. According to the politician, time is playing in Russia’s favor, and negotiations may commence next year.

“Negotiations may start next year, as events unfold indicating that the Ukrainian side may not gain a military advantage. Time is currently favoring Russia, which has a stronger mobilization base. Winning time, Russia can also replenish its material base, which has long been insufficient. We see massive supplies from North Korea, attempts to bypass sanctions,” said the Czech president.

It is evident that Russia is attempting to prolong the conflict, Pavel added. Additionally, the Kremlin may await the results of next year’s U.S. presidential elections. Despite this, the West must continue to support Ukraine, the Czech president emphasized.

“The situation is not unequivocally positive. What should be positive for Ukraine is that we are on their side and should support them in achieving their goals. On our part, we have no choice but to continue providing support,” he concluded.
