In social networks, the "historian" was also angry about the removal of the memorial plaque to Bulgakov.And the main thing is that this is not the first unpunished propagandist of rashism, a Ukrainian-hating character from science. So maybe it's time to document all the traitors who have been praising and are praising the "russian peace", who have been humiliating and are humiliating their people, by compiling a register? And number one on the register there will be the long-time "champion" of Ukrainianophobia, the infamous academician-archaeologist Petro Tolochko. According to Tolochko, every Ukrainian is a decent person, a bearer of moral values ​​only if he is loyal to Moscow. This is the thinking of a Russian imperial official. Therefore, it is necessary to be reliable for Moscow, and not for Ukraine...Mr. Tolochko, regardless of his Ukrainian ranks, titles and positions, remained a kind of Moscow «Cossack»; and fundamentally unable to look at the world through Moscow glasses...             Tolochko is an ordinary ignoramus in some matters of Ukrainian culture and language. Here is his assessment of the Ukrainian language: «Some of our linguists forget that the Ukrainian language is largely a symbiosis of the Old Russian and Polish languages. If it were not for the national liberation movement, if Ukraine did not break free from the «fraternal embrace» of Poland, then there was a threat of losing its language altogether».            Here in this quote is the whole of Tolochko, with his erudition and logic... Tolochko repeats the dormant theses of imperial Russia that the Ukrainian language is actually Russian, somewhat corrupted by Polish (newspaper “The Way of Victory”). Can one forget and forgive such an insult to the dignity and history of the Ukrainian people, open promotion of rashism?! The instructors and employees of the Department of Ethnology and Local History of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv made a principled statement published on the department's website «The Department of Ethnology and Local History condemns the shameful act of Stefan Mashkevych, who cynically expressed dissatisfaction with the activation of processes in Ukraine aimed at displacing the Russian language from the field of education, science, cinematography, book publishing and other branches of society.            We regret that he did not show these views until 2020, when, as an external applicant, he was recommended by the department to defend his doctoral dissertation.              It is even more annoying that such statements belong to the grandson of the former dean of the history faculty of our university, by the way, also Stefan Mashkevych, who was repressed by moskals in the 1930s.
