The Nobel version of friendship of the brotherly peoples... Imitating the Pope?
A silent scene after the Nobel Committee's official announcement: ''The Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided to award the 2022 Peace Prize to human rights activist Ales Bilyatsky from Belarus, the Russian human rights organization Memorial, and the Ukrainian human rights organization The Center for Civil Liberties. Belarus, russia, Ukraine... The esteemed committee states: "The 2022 Nobel Peace Prize winners represent civil society in their countries. For many years, they have promoted the right to criticize the government and protect the basic rights of citizens. They have made outstanding efforts to document war crimes, human rights abuse, and abuse of power. Collectively, they demonstrate the importance of civil society for peace and democracy". Moreover, "collectively, they demonstrate" the infamous Soviet theory of the three brotherly Slavic peoples, forgetting that one of these peoples is not Slavic at all... This parallel could have gone unnoticed, but the desire to unite, reconcile and make Russians and Ukrainians friends is not new on the European political horizon. The combination of a Ukrainian woman and a Russian woman at the Easter procession in the Vatican has not yet been forgotten. By Valentyn Kondratiuk, journalistThe photo depicts the author
