Katarzyna GÓJSKA: As long as Poland supports Ukraine, our neighbor will be able to defend itself

"Gazeta Polska" (November 2022) published an article by Katarzyna Gójska, a well-known Polish journalist, TV channel “Republika” presenter, political activist, entitled "Moscow has not yet been announced the verdict."

"The key months of the war are ahead of us," the author writes. - Attacks on Ukraine continue, the purpose of which is to destroy society, but beyond the borders of our neighbor there is a game about the way to end the war. And today it is neither clear nor obvious. Sometimes the unity of the Western world is forced by the position of America and the mood of citizens, but behind the faces of the leaders who show full solidarity with the Ukrainians in front of cameras, quite often there is a willingness to compromise at the expense of sacrifices."

Katarzyna Gójska points out that there is no reason to be under the illusion that paintings from Bucha or Irpin have changed the attitude towards Russia in Berlin, Paris or Amsterdam for a long time. The game, in our opinion, should be about depriving Russia of the position of a great power and the related privileges. But no constructive and binding debates have yet taken place on this topic. If the war in Ukraine should end in real peace ̶ i.e. the lasting liberation of our verte!

Eastern neighbor and guaranteeing security  the aggressor cannot maintain its current position, which gives it the right to have a real influence on world politics, keeping, at least, a permanent seat in the UN Security Council.

The Polish publicist insists that "Moscow must be punished and ostracized until it compensates the victims for its savage attack and proves to the world convincingly that it is ready to accept the principles of democracy." The problem is that, according to the author, it may turn out that there will not be a strong enough front of states that would like such an end to the war.

"And today's silence on the topic of how to end the aggression in Ukraine is, unfortunately, alarmingly broad and may indicate readiness for compromise, i.e. forcing Kyiv to make concessions... Such a scenario would be ominous for Poland and our region. In order to implement it, we must first force Warsaw, and then Kyiv," K. Gójska writes.

The author makes an important conclusion: "As long as the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth stands together with Ukraine, our neighbor, which has experienced a brutal attack, can defend itself. THE CHANGE OF THE GOVERNMENT IN WARSAW TO A PRO-GERMAN GOVERNMENT (meaning the government of D. Tusk. ̶ Ed.) ̶ WHAT IS EQUAL TO A PRO-RUSSIAN GOVERNMENT WITH US, ̶ WILL GIVE AN OPPORTUNITY TO BREAK THE SOLID POSITION OF KYIV AND ITS CITIZENS."

Katarzyna Gójska urges to look at next year's parliamentary elections in Poland from that point of view. Their importance not only for the Republic of Poland, but also for the entire region seems unprecedented.

"The creators and implementers of a "reset" of relations with the russian federation (meaning PO (Platforma Obywatelska) and the government of D. Tusk. ̶ Ed.) in 2007-2015, having returned to power, will reorient the Polish policy towards Kyiv to the policy of Berlin regarding moscow. Today, this is exactly what the big game is about," the author sums up her thoughts.

This article is extremely important for understanding the political processes taking place in Poland today and fully expresses the position of the ruling Law and Justice (Prawo i Sprawiedliwość, PiS) party, and therefore should be read carefully by the leadership circles of Ukraine.
